Should You Lick Your Lips Before Applying BeetGlow Lip Balm?

No—licking your lips is not a necessary preparation step before applying BeetGlow. The American Academy of Dermatology explains that frequent licking can make dryness worse as saliva evaporates. It suggests reaching for a non-irritating balm instead when you notice the habit. Read the AAD lip-care guidance.

Make the habit easier to notice

Think about the moments when you reach for lip balm: while checking your phone, sitting at your desk or getting ready for bed. You can use one of those moments as a reminder to pause rather than lick first. This is a simple routine cue, not a claim that a particular habit schedule has been clinically tested with BeetGlow.

Glaamorr BeetGlow is a 6 g lip balm with SPF 15 on its label. The current directions say to apply evenly and use as often as needed. They do not instruct you to wet your lips with saliva first.

Comfort is the useful check

Apply the product as directed and pay attention to how your lips feel. Stop using a lip product that burns or stings; that sensation is not proof that it is working. Avoid picking or biting at dry skin. These are general lip-care recommendations, not evidence that this particular balm treats a medical condition. Read the AAD guidance.

Keep outdoor protection separate

BeetGlow's labeled SPF is 15. AAD recommends SPF 30 or higher for lip protection outdoors, so do not describe this balm as meeting that recommendation. If dryness does not improve or you are concerned about persistent changes, consult a dermatologist rather than repeatedly adding products.

The small change to remember is simply this: skip the lick-first step. For the wider routine, see the BeetGlow everyday guide.
